Getting the Most out of Supervision

(1 Supervision CE) Free for NASW members

This session is part of a training series offered through the Michigan Advancing Social Work Careers through Education and Navigation (MI ASCEND) program developed by the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, Workforce Development (LEO-WD) and funded with support from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund.

We will explore the reasoning for and recommendations of social work supervision. It will help limited license social workers and social workers in training (interns, RSSTs, and students) understand the utility of this required process- from how to find a supervisor to ensuring you get the most out of this important (and required) professional development asset.

Additionally, for our seasoned professionals who attend, it will be an insightful overview of licensure supervision from the perspective of meeting the needs of newly licensed social workers. All fully licensed social workers in Michigan can provide licensure supervision to colleagues or employees at their places of employment and this review of goals and expectations will also serve as a useful update for use by fully licensed supervisors.
