Culturally Responsive Social Work Practice: Context and Connection (6 CEs)

Registration is open! Join us on Friday, November 6th for a full day of learning and 6 CE's

Join NASW-Alaska for an engaging virtual symposium exploring the unique cultural, social, and practice considerations shaping social work in Alaska. Culturally Responsive Social Work Practice: Context and Connection will bring together experts and practitioners to explore topics including immigration in Alaska, the benefits of culture camps and intergenerational resilience, Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) and Indigenous Sovereignty, and the online exploitation and safety of Alaska youth.

This Alaska-focused event will offer opportunities to deepen your understanding, strengthen culturally responsive practice, and connect current issues to the work social workers do every day.

This symposium qualifies for 6 total CEs and runs from 9:00am-3:30pm AK (1:00pm-7:30pm ET).  Implicit Bias CE's will be available for both the “Benefits of Culture Camps on the Well-Being and Intergenerational Resilience of Alaska Native People” (10:40 AK) and “MMIP + Data Sovereignty in Alaska” (12:20 AK) sessions.
