Alaska Passes Social Work Interstate Licensure Compact Legislation

Alaska Passes The Social Work Interstate Licensure Compact!

Big news for Alaska social workers! HB 110, the Social Work Interstate Licensure Compact, has officially passed the Alaska State Legislature following a flurry of legislative action as lawmakers wrapped up this year’s session. The bill now heads to Governor Dunleavy for signature.

Thank you to every Alaska social worker, advocate, and supporter who took action, contacted legislators, and helped move this important legislation forward. Your voices made a difference and helped bring Alaska one step closer to expanding workforce mobility and increasing access to social work services across our state.

A special thanks to our bill sponsors, Representatives Gray, Story, Galvin, Prax, and Josephson, and to former NASW-AK Executive Director Tonie Protzman for your fierce advocacy in getting this bill started.
